Bathurst Youth Council has teamed up with Bathurst Regional Council and Dye Hard to bring the Bathurst 200 Dye Hard Colour Run to the city in October this year.
Mayor of Bathurst Cr Gary Rush is encouraging local businesses to take part in revamped ‘Ignite the Night’ Window Display Competition, as part of the Bicentenary Race Festival from Friday 2 October to Sunday 18 October.
The countdown is own for the 2015 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 and the Bicentenary Race Festival.
Mayor of Bathurst Cr Gary Rush said this year, the race festival will take on a new format as it incorporates the traditional Race Week Off Track Events, followed by the final Illuminate Bathurst which will take on a distinct motor sport theme.
Bathurst’s outdoor ice rink in King’s Parade will be opening an hour earlier from Sunday to provide extra skating sessions after demand has seen more than 5,000 tickets sold prior to the start of the Illuminate Bathurst Winter Festival.
An ice skating rink in operation in Kings Parade from Saturday 4 July through to Sunday 12 July as part of the Illuminate Bathurst Winter Festival will raise funds for the 2015 Daffodil Cottage fundraising appeal.
Bookings are now open online for a key feature of the Illuminate Bathurst Winter Festival, the open air ice skating rink in Kings Parade.
The skating rink will be in operation from Saturday 4 July through to Sunday 12 July.
The Illuminate Bathurst Winter Festival will run from 4 to 12 July, and local businesses are invited to light up their store windows and join in the festivities.
Heritage conservation consultant and immediate past Chair of the ACT Heritage Council Duncan Marshall has been announced as the inaugural winner of the Bathurst Macquarie Heritage Medal at a dinner in Bathurst this evening. Four nominees from three states were nominated for the inaugural national $25,000 award.
A delegation from Ohkuma, Bathurst’s Japanese sister city arrives in Bathurst today, to take part in the city’s bicentenary celebrations.
The visit also marks the 25th year of the sister city relationship. In honour of this occasion Bathurst Mayor Cr Gary Rush and Ohkuma Mayor Toshitsuna Watanabe will re-sign the sister city agreement.
The civic event of Bathurst’s bicentenary celebrations, the official reinstatement of Macquarie’s Flag Staff, will take place from 10.30am on Thursday, and will be followed by a colonial fair on the banks of the Macquarie River.
